Tonia Davis, co-head of Higher Ground Productions, oversees development and shepherds production for the company’s film and television slate.  Higher Ground’s past releases include the Academy Award winning documentary "American Factory".  Upcoming releases include "Crip Camp" (Sundance Audience Award 2020), "Listen To Your Vegetables and Eat Your Parents" and an adaptation of Michael Lewis’s best-selling book "The Fifth Risk".  Prior to Higher Ground, Tonia was a Senior Vice President at Chernin Entertainment, and an executive producer on the comedy “Snatched” starring Amy Schumer, the original musical “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman, and the horror film “Underwater” starring Kristen Stewart.  Davis previously worked for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, on such films as The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast.  She is a member of the Executive Circle for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women, a board member of LIFT, a national non-profit focused on poverty reduction. A graduate of Wellesley College, Tonia lives in Silver Lake with her wife, daughter, and extremely agitated dog, Chewie.

Anne Hong is a literary and talent manager at Mosaic. Her clients include TV and film writers and directors, actors, comedians, many of them multi-hyphenates. Before working in entertainment, she worked at Random House in New York. Her transition to this business included four different assistant jobs which she considers an education greater than any grad school (her parents still ask her if she plans to go).

Join us for a special afternoon as we welcome alums Tonia Davis and Anne Hong to discuss their work in film/TV. We'll cover how they got where they are, the work they're doing now, and their advice for navigating the film and TV industry. All proceeds will benefit our 4th Annual Screenwriting Competition for Wellesley Seniors. Come out and support the competition, learn a thing or two from Tonia and Anne, and hang out with your fellow alums! With any questions/concerns, please contact: WellesleyInEntertainment@gmail.com
